Elon Musk’s Starlink Applies to Establish Ground Stations in Pakistan

Elon Musk’s Starlink is working towards launching its services in Pakistan. The company has registered itself as “Starlink Internet Services (Private) Limited” with the SECP, marking an important step in entering the country.

Starlink has applied to set up 2-3 ground stations that will provide internet through low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites. The project is currently under review by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and other regulatory bodies, which are assessing its technical and legal aspects.

The introduction of Starlink could bring a major breakthrough in internet connectivity, especially in remote and underserved areas of Pakistan. By using LEO satellite technology, Starlink promises to deliver high-speed, reliable internet services where traditional networks cannot reach.

To move forward, the company must comply with Pakistan’s National Satellite Policy 2023 and the upcoming Pakistan Space Activities Rules 2024. These regulations are essential to ensure that Starlink operates within the country’s legal framework.

If approved, Starlink will provide a game-changing internet service that could enhance digital inclusion and open up new opportunities for education, business, and communication across the country. This initiative has the potential to modernize Pakistan’s digital landscape and improve the quality of life for millions.

Starlink’s expansion into Pakistan is being closely watched, as it could set the stage for a new era of technological advancement and connectivity.
