Trillion Dollar Mineral Resources Can Free Pakistan from IMF, PM Shehbaz Sharif

At the Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum 2025, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif encouraged both local and international investors to explore the country’s vast mineral resources. He shared that Pakistan holds mineral reserves worth trillions of dollars, offering great opportunities for investment and growth.

Speaking at the event, the Prime Minister stressed that instead of exporting raw minerals, Pakistan should focus on processing them into finished products. This approach, he said, would create more jobs, bring in higher profits, and support the local economy.

He also highlighted the importance of modern technology in the mining sector. He called for investment agreements that include technology transfer so Pakistan can benefit from advanced tools and methods. In addition, he proposed the setup of vocational training centers to train local workers and strengthen the country’s industrial workforce.

The two-day forum attracted a strong response, with over 2,000 participants from various sectors. Among them were 300 international guests, showing the global interest in Pakistan’s mining sector. Business leaders, experts, and government officials discussed opportunities, challenges, and strategies to turn Pakistan into a global mining hub.

The forum also gave a platform to showcase ongoing mining projects, investment incentives, and policies to support growth in this sector. The government assured investors of support and transparency in all mining-related processes.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s message was clear: Pakistan is ready to welcome partnerships that bring value, create jobs, and boost the economy through responsible and advanced mining practices. His vision for turning Pakistan into a mining powerhouse gained strong support from both local and foreign participants.

The forum marked an important step toward unlocking Pakistan’s mineral potential and building a stronger, more self-reliant economy.
