Over 500 Japanese IT Organizations keen to hire Pakistanis

As per the Japanese Ambassador, Kinnori Matsuda around 500 Japanese IT firms are ready to come to Pakistan after the COVID-19 pandemic in order to recruit a batch of skilled workers from the Pakistan’s local population.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) in a meeting on the Overseas Pakistanis and the Human Resource Development, Mr Zulfikar Bukhari, and the Japanese envoy explained that the Japan was running out of IT skilled workers for its giant companies. However, the country also expects to face a severe shortage of its IT engineers for up to 800,000 by 2030 or as in upcoming years.

Regarding this, the envoy informed Mr. Zulfikar Bukhari that Japan is looking forward to import the Pakistani IT engineers to fulfill the requirements of its gaint firms.

This meeting was also followed by the online video conference with the concerned Japanese IT companies’ association. The officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan Software Houses Association, Ministry of Information Technology, and embassies of both countries also participated in the meeting virtually.

The association discussed that around 100 Japanese IT firms had already contacted to the embassy by following the Pak-Japan skilled workforce agreement as for the search for Pakistan’s young IT talent.

Mr. Zulfi Bukhari also added that under their new vision, Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis is expanding horizons for the Pakistani manpower exports just by considering options of different countries other than the Gulf States.

Mr Bukhari informed the participants that the ministry was also in the close contact with South Korea, Germany, Romania, and Japan, and it is sending IT like Tech engineers to Japan’s top priority firms. He also added that he will be making one important visit to Japan next year in 2021. SAPM also add that 2021 would also mark as a new beginning for relationship of Pakistan-Japan.
