School Principal in Swat Saves 900 Students During De@dly Flood

The recent spell of heavy rains and flash floods has caused serious damage to the education system in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to official reports, 61 government schools have been completely washed away, while another 414 schools have suffered partial damage in different districts of the province.

Most of the schools that were destroyed include 52 primary schools, seven middle schools, and two high schools. The district of Dir Lower has seen the worst impact, where 17 primary schools were completely demolished. Shangla also suffered heavy losses with eight schools destroyed. In Haripur, seven school buildings collapsed, which included five primary schools, one middle school, and one high school.

Authorities say the situation may get worse, as more reports are still coming in from flood-hit areas. The destruction of so many schools is a huge setback for children’s education in the affected districts, as thousands of students are now left without proper classrooms and learning spaces. This disaster has not only damaged infrastructure but has also created new challenges for teachers, students, and families who are already struggling with limited resources.

Officials and local communities are calling for urgent support to rebuild schools so that children can return to their studies as soon as possible. The floods have once again highlighted how vulnerable the education sector is to natural disasters in Pakistan.
