Petroleum prices in Pakistan are expected to rise once again from October 1, 2025, as part of the government’s regular adjustment policy. Sources suggest that petrol and other fuel products will become more expensive for the next two weeks.
The suggested increase comes after initial price calculations were completed. Officials explained that OGRA has prepared the summary and will forward it to the Petroleum Division.
In coordination with the Ministry of Finance, the proposal will then be sent to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for final approval.
If approved, the revised prices will come into effect at the start of October. The increase will directly affect petrol, diesel, kerosene and light diesel, adding extra pressure on households and businesses already facing high energy costs.
Expected Fuel Prices from October 1, 2025
Fuel Type | Current Price | Expected New Price | Increase |
---|---|---|---|
Petrol (Super) | Rs. 264.61 | Rs. 266.58 | Rs. 1.97 |
High Speed Diesel | Rs. 272.99 | Rs. 275.47 | Rs. 2.48 |
Light Speed Diesel | Rs. 162.37 | Rs. 164.13 | Rs. 1.76 |
Kerosene Oil | Rs. 178.27 | Rs. 182.91 | Rs. 4.64 |
While petrol may rise by nearly Rs. 2 per litre, kerosene oil is set to see the sharpest jump of over Rs.4. Experts believe the revision will impact transport and daily essentials.
The official announcement is likely within days but if cleared consumers will start paying the new rates from October 1.
