The Type-054 Frigates, according to a Pakistan Navy spokesperson, will be one of the most technologically advanced surface platforms in the Pakistan Navy Fleet, equipped with the most powerful surface, subsurface and anti-air missile systems.
A contract inked in 2017 with China for the construction of Type 054 AP Frigates was signed by the Pakistan Navy.
At the Chinese Hudong Zhonghua Shipyard in Shanghai, the first-in-class Frigate was launched in August 2020, followed by the second Frigate in January 2021.
The successful launch of the series’ third ship is a testament to Sino-Pak defence and diplomatic ties.
