Pakistan To Host New Zealand Cricket Team After 18 Years

Pakistani officials are working hard to bring cricket back home as the country prepares to host New Zealand for the first time since November 2003.

The Pakistan Cricket Board released the schedule for New Zealand’s upcoming tour to Pakistan on Thursday, revealing that they will play three ODIs in Rawalpindi and five T20Is in Punjab’s capital.

According to the PCB’s handout, the ODIs will be played on September 17, 19, and 21 at the Pindi Cricket Stadium. Meanwhile, from September 25 to October 3, the Gaddafi Stadium will host five Twenty20 Internationals.

While discussing the next visit, PCB Chief Executive Wasim Khan stated that a series against New Zealand would be the ideal start to an exciting home season of red and white-ball cricket.

“We’re very much looking forward to returning to Pakistan for the commencement of their international home season,” said New Zealand Cricket Chief Executive David White. New Zealand was the first country outside of India to visit Pakistan and the PCB and we have a great relationship. It’s fantastic that international cricket is being played in Pakistan again after such a terrible period.”

Wasim Khan stated, “I am delighted that New Zealand Cricket has agreed to play two more T20Is. These would not only provide both countries more games as part of their World Cup preparations, but they will also allow New Zealand players to spend more time in Pakistan, familiarizing themselves with our culture and enjoying our hospitality,”
