Renowned scholar, writer, and educator Dr. Arfa Zehra has passed away in Lahore, leaving behind a rich legacy of knowledge, service and inspiration. Her death has saddened students, colleagues, and countless people who admired her work and wisdom.
Dr. Arfa Zehra’s academic journey was marked by excellence. She completed her B.A. (Honors) from Lahore College for Women University and later earned her Master’s degree from Government College University Lahore.
She continued her studies abroad and received her Ph.D. in History from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, a major achievement that shaped the rest of her career.
Throughout her professional life, Dr. Zehra held several important positions. She served as the Principal of Lahore College for Women University, where she worked to improve academic standards and create better opportunities for young women.
She also served as the Chairperson of the National Commission on the Status of Women, playing a vital role in promoting women’s rights and highlighting social issues across Pakistan.
Beyond her academic contributions, Dr. Arfa Zehra was also well-known in the media. She became a familiar face through PTV’s famous program “Barah Darwazay of Lahore,” where she shared history, culture, and stories with warmth and clarity.
