Field Marshal Asim Munir, in his first speech as the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), said that the establishment of the new CDF Headquarters is an important milestone for improving cooperation among the army, navy, and air force.
He explained that Pakistan’s defence structure must now work in harmony with modern forms of warfare, such as cyber security, space-based technology, artificial intelligence, and information operations. He noted that recent global conflicts have shown how essential it is for all military branches to operate together across multiple domains.
Munir assured that every service—the army, navy, and air force—will continue to function independently in its own areas, but their efforts will now be better coordinated under a unified command for greater effectiveness.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s desire for peace and stability, but also made it clear that the country will strongly protect its sovereignty whenever required.
