Pakistan’s women’s cricket team won the bronze medal at the 2026 Asian Games after defeating Bangladesh by 31 runs in the third-place match on Tuesday, September 22. The match was played at Korogi Athletic Park in Nisshin, Japan.
Pakistan batted first and scored 145 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs. Captain Fatima Sana played a key role, scoring 45 off 30 balls, including three fours and three sixes. Gull Feroza added 31 runs, while Aliya Riaz scored 25. Pakistan recovered after losing five wickets for 67 runs, with Fatima and Riaz putting together a 67-run partnership.
Bangladesh struggled early in the chase and lost three wickets for 20 runs. Sharmin Akhter remained unbeaten on 46, while captain Nigar Sultana made 25, but Bangladesh finished at 114 for seven in 20 overs. Umm-e-Hani was Pakistan’s leading bowler, taking three wickets for just 10 runs.
The bronze is Pakistan’s third women’s cricket medal at the Asian Games. The team previously won gold in 2010 and 2014.
