Pakistan defeated Australia 2-0 in the three-match T20I series at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, in January-February 2026, marking their first T20I series win against Australia in over seven years. The last time Pakistan beat Australia in a T20I series was in 2018, ending a long wait for fans of the Green Shirts.
The series opener on January 29 saw Pakistan batting first and scoring 168/8. Saim Ayub played a quick and important innings, while Salman Agha added crucial runs to help set a competitive target. Australia, led by Travis Head and featuring several players, struggled to chase. Despite Adam Zampa’s impressive 4/24, they finished at 146/8, giving Pakistan a 22-run victory.

Australia collapsed under pressure and were bowled out for just 108 in 15.4 overs. Pakistan’s spin attack dominated, with Abrar Ahmed taking 3/14, Shadab Khan 3/26, and Zahid Mahmood 2/16. The 90-run win secured the series with one match to spare.
This series win highlighted Pakistan’s strong home record in T20Is and the dominance of their spinners on turning pitches. With the 2026 T20 World Cup approaching, the victory boosts Pakistan’s confidence while showing Australia areas they need to improve. The third T20I on February 1 became a formality, as Pakistan had already claimed the series.
This triumph reinforces Pakistan’s position as a strong T20 side at home and adds momentum ahead of major upcoming tournaments.
