Pakistani researchers specializing in AI security, cybersecurity, and biosafety now have an opportunity to earn rewards of up to $50,000 through OpenAI’s newly launched Bio Bounty Program.
The initiative aims to strengthen the safety of advanced AI systems by inviting qualified experts to identify potential vulnerabilities that could be exploited for biological misuse. By uncovering these risks, participants will contribute to improving the security and reliability of future AI models.
Pakistan has been included among the eligible countries for the program, giving local experts a chance to participate on a global stage. However, the Bio Bounty Program is not open to the general public.
Interested researchers must first submit an application, after which OpenAI will review their qualifications and extend invitations to selected candidates with relevant expertise in AI security, cybersecurity, or biosafety.
To encourage high-quality research, OpenAI has increased the program’s maximum reward from $25,000 to $50,000. Researchers who successfully identify significant vulnerabilities could receive substantial payouts while playing an important role in advancing AI safety.
The initiative reflects growing global efforts to ensure powerful AI technologies are developed responsibly and remain resilient against potential biological threats.
