The Government of Pakistan has approved the introduction of a single-point airport checking system aimed at reducing passenger waiting times and improving overall travel convenience at airports across the country. The initiative is part of broader efforts to modernize aviation procedures and streamline security and immigration processes.
A high-level meeting chaired by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi in Islamabad reviewed the new system in detail. Officials agreed on the implementation of advanced screening technologies, the establishment of joint counters, and improved coordination between multiple security and regulatory agencies. Under the new arrangement, passengers will go through a unified scanning process, which is expected to significantly reduce queues and speed up clearance at various checkpoints.
The meeting also reviewed progress on the installation of e-gates and other modern security enhancements designed to make airport operations more efficient and secure. Authorities emphasized that the reforms aim not only to improve passenger experience through faster processing but also to strengthen monitoring systems to curb illegal migration and enhance border control effectiveness.
