30,000 Iranian Pilgrims to Perform Hajj This Year

Iran is set to send around 30,000 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for Hajj 2026 under a coordinated agreement reached between officials in Tehran and Riyadh. According to Iranian authorities, the first group of pilgrims is expected to arrive in Medina on April 27, marking the beginning of the country’s annual Hajj operations.

Officials said all major arrangements have been finalised in cooperation with Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. These include accommodation, transportation, healthcare support, and logistical services to ensure pilgrims can perform their religious duties comfortably and safely.

Iranian pilgrims will stay in designated hotels in Mecca and Medina, where improved facilities have reportedly been arranged. Authorities also said pilgrims will benefit from longer stays in Medina this year, allowing them more time for worship and visits to important religious sites.

Flight operations are said to be ready and awaiting final approvals, while on-ground teams have already begun field preparations. Officials added that efforts are focused on ensuring a smooth and well-organised journey for all pilgrims travelling for the sacred pilgrimage.
