Lahore Board Launches Automated System for Practical Exams

The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Lahore has launched a new automated system for practical examinations, representing an important move toward greater digitization and transparency in the education sector. The initiative has been introduced to streamline examination procedures, improve efficiency, and ensure a fairer assessment process for students across the board.

Implemented under the directives of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the new system provides computerized allocation of examiners, removing manual involvement in the selection process. Officials said this step is expected to significantly reduce the chances of favoritism, personal influence, and irregularities, while strengthening merit-based practices in the conduct of practical exams.

In another major reform, practical examinations have also been shifted to a centralized marking system. Authorities believe this will help maintain uniform standards in evaluation, improve consistency in grading, and enhance confidence among students and parents regarding the credibility of results.

The development is being seen as part of the Punjab government’s wider agenda to modernize the education system through technology-driven reforms. By introducing transparent and efficient examination mechanisms, the government aims to build greater public trust and ensure that students are assessed purely on merit and performance.
