Punjab has launched its first Virtual Police Station dedicated to women, marking a significant step toward improving access to justice and support services through digital means. The initiative is designed to help women report complaints, seek guidance, and connect with police officials without the need to physically visit a police station. Authorities said the platform aims to provide a safer and more convenient environment for women facing harassment, domestic violence, or other legal issues.
Officials stated that the virtual station will offer services such as complaint registration, case follow-ups, legal assistance, and emergency response coordination. The move is part of broader efforts to modernise policing in Punjab and encourage more women to come forward with concerns by removing social and logistical barriers. Authorities believe the project will strengthen trust between citizens and law enforcement while ensuring faster and more accessible support for women across the province.
