Mohsin Naqvi, chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, has reportedly received invitations to attend the upcoming ICC Board Meeting in India along with the final match of the IPL in Ahmedabad.
According to reports, the ICC meetings will take place in two stages. The first session is expected to be held virtually on May 21, while the main board meeting is scheduled for May 30 and 31. These meetings usually focus on important matters related to international cricket, future tournaments, and policy decisions.
Reports also suggest that the final decision regarding Mohsin Naqvi’s visit to India may be made by Shehbaz Sharif. No official confirmation has been shared yet about whether the visit will take place.
The upcoming ICC discussions could include possible changes to the structure of the World Test Championship. Officials may review ideas aimed at improving competition and creating more opportunities for developing cricket nations.
Another topic expected to be discussed is the potential expansion of international cricket participation involving teams such as Zimbabwe, Ireland, and Afghanistan. Expanding involvement for these teams could help increase competitiveness and strengthen global cricket development.
The meetings are considered important because decisions taken by ICC members can influence the future direction of international cricket, tournament formats, and opportunities for emerging cricket nations.
