Saad Edhi, Son of Faisal Edhi Joins Global Sumud Flotilla from Turkey

Saad Edhi, the son of Faisal Edhi, has joined the international Global Sumud Flotilla mission departing from Marmaris, Turkey, as part of a humanitarian effort aimed at delivering relief supplies to civilians in Gaza. The mission brings together hundreds of activists, volunteers, and aid workers from different countries who say the objective is to highlight the humanitarian situation in the region and provide assistance to affected families.

The convoy reportedly includes more than 500 participants from around the world and is expected to sail across the Mediterranean over the next six to seven days. Organizers say the flotilla is carrying humanitarian assistance and medical support items intended for people impacted by the ongoing conflict. The participation of members linked to the Edhi Foundation has drawn attention in Pakistan, where the organization has long been associated with humanitarian and welfare work.

According to organizers, the mission is part of broader international efforts to raise awareness about the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and push for greater access to relief supplies. Similar aid flotillas in the past have faced restrictions and interceptions at sea, particularly from Israeli naval authorities operating in the Mediterranean, making the current journey both symbolic and challenging for participants involved in the campaign.
