US officials have told Iran through diplomatic channels not to take President Donald Trump’s social media posts and public statements about a peace deal too seriously. They clarified that these posts are mostly political messaging for American audiences rather than official negotiation positions.
Meanwhile, serious behind-the-scenes talks are progressing, with Pakistan playing a leading mediating role. Field Marshal Asim Munir has been actively involved in high-level discussions between the two sides.
A draft framework for the possible agreement has been prepared. The draft includes extending the ceasefire for another 60 days, reopening the Strait of Hormuz for safe shipping, allowing Iran to export oil freely, partial lifting of sanctions, and future discussions on limiting Iran’s nuclear activities.
The negotiations remain flexible and ongoing. Pakistan’s efforts are being appreciated internationally for helping reduce tensions between the United States and Iran.
