Over 1,500 Electric Fans Missing From Punjab’s Nishtar Hospital

A big scandal has come to light at Nishtar Hospital in Multan, one of Punjab’s largest public hospitals. More than 1,500 electric fans have gone missing from the hospital’s basement storage. Hospital officials have now filed a complaint with the police and requested a full investigation into the theft.

According to the complaint submitted by the hospital’s security in-charge, Muzammil, to the Cantonment Police Station, over 2,100 fans were kept in the basement. But a recent inspection showed that most of them, more than 1,500, had disappeared. The hospital administration, which had earlier denied any missing items, has now officially admitted the loss.

This incident has raised serious questions about security and inventory management at the hospital. Officials suspect the theft may involve people with inside access to the storage area. The case comes just months after another controversy involving stolen medicines at the same facility.

Nishtar Hospital serves thousands of patients daily, especially from southern Punjab. Missing fans are a significant loss for a public hospital already struggling with resource constraints, especially during the hot summer months when cooling is essential for patients.

Authorities have urged police to trace those responsible and recover the fans. This event highlights the need for better accountability and tighter security in government hospitals to protect public property.
