Massive Forest Fire Damages Saleem Bagh Mountains in Mansehra

A big wildfire broke out on Tuesday in the Saleem Bagh mountain range near Mansehra city in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The fire spread quickly through dry grass and pine needles, causing heavy damage to trees, plants, and wildlife in the forest.

District Emergency Officer Ibrar Ali said firefighting teams reached the spot fast with fire tenders. They worked hard to stop the flames from reaching nearby homes. In hard-to-reach high areas, teams used both modern tools and old traditional ways to control the blaze. Thanks to their quick action, the fire stayed inside the forest area.

Mr. Ali warned people not to throw or leave anything that can easily catch fire in the woods. Such fires destroy nature and kill animals that are important for our environment. He asked everyone to be careful to prevent more fires.

In a related step, the Lower Dir district administration imposed Section 144 for 30 days. This order bans illegal tree cutting, the use of chainsaws without permission, and the burning of grass or bushes near forests. It aims to reduce fire risks and protect forests, animals, and people. Violators can face legal action.

Forest fires are common in dry seasons. Officials urge the public to help save these important green areas.
