Trump Shares PM Shehbaz’s Tweet on Finalised Iran Deal

US President Donald Trump recently shared a tweet from Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif about a major peace deal between the United States and Iran. This event has raised hopes for an end to months of conflict in the Middle East.

On June 13, 2026, PM Shehbaz posted on X (formerly Twitter) that the final text of a peace deal had been agreed upon. He said Pakistan was working closely with both sides to complete the next steps. “Peace has never been this close as it is now,” he wrote. He also warned against misinformation campaigns trying to stop the deal.

Trump reposted the message on his Truth Social platform. This shows strong support from the US leader. Earlier, Trump had said a deal could be signed soon, possibly over the weekend, and that the Strait of Hormuz would open for safe shipping. He cancelled planned strikes on Iran after talks.

The war began in late February 2026 with US-Israeli strikes on Iran. After fighting and a short ceasefire in April, Pakistan played a key role as a mediator. Talks were held in Islamabad, and both countries have now reached key agreements on issues like the Strait of Hormuz and broader peace in the region.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also spoke positively, calling it the “Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.” US Vice President JD Vance stressed that the deal would protect US interests and bring economic benefits if Iran meets its promises.

This development comes after intense diplomacy. Many countries, including Gulf states, are watching closely. If signed, the deal could bring lasting stability to the Middle East, reduce tensions, and help global oil markets. However, details are still being finalised, and both sides must stay committed.
