Iran-US to Sign Deal within Next 24 Hours, PM Shehbaz

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that the United States and Iran are very close to signing a peace deal. On June 13, 2026, he announced that both sides have agreed on the final text of the agreement. He expects the electronic signing to happen within the next 24 hours.

Pakistan has played a key role in mediating talks between the two countries. Sharif posted on X that “we are closer to a peace deal than ever before.” After the electronic signing, technical-level talks will begin next week to work out more details.

This development comes after months of tension and conflict in the Middle East. The war started with U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran earlier in 2026. Iran closed the important Strait of Hormuz, which blocked much of the world’s oil supply and raised global prices. A ceasefire was announced in April 2026, but a full peace agreement was still needed.

The deal is expected to reopen the Strait of Hormuz for normal shipping. It may also include steps on Iran’s nuclear program, such as limits on uranium enrichment, removal or down-blending of highly enriched uranium, and future inspections. In return, Iran could get some relief from sanctions if it follows the terms.

Both sides have faced pressure to end the fighting. The conflict hurt regional stability, affected oil markets, and caused economic problems. Pakistan’s mediation efforts, along with help from other countries, helped bring the parties closer.

PM Sharif thanked the leaders of the US and Iran for choosing peace. He said Pakistan will continue to support the process for lasting stability in the region.

This possible agreement brings new hope for ending the war and improving relations between the US and Iran. However, experts say success will depend on both sides keeping their promises in the coming weeks.
