President Asif Ali Zardari has welcomed the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding between the United States and Iran, describing it as an important moment for regional and global peace.
In his statement, President Zardari said that the agreement could help bring stability after a period of conflict that caused serious challenges across the region.
He highlighted that the tensions had resulted in loss of lives, affected communities, disrupted energy supplies, and created difficulties for international trade and economic activities.
The president expressed hope that such conflicts would not happen again and emphasized that countries in the region should now focus on progress, development, and improving the lives of their citizens.
He said that the future should be centered on cooperation, economic growth, and creating better opportunities for people instead of continued disputes. According to him, regional peace is necessary for long-term prosperity and stability.
President Zardari also appreciated the efforts of Pakistani leadership and officials who contributed to the diplomatic process.
He praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi for their role in supporting negotiations.
He said that their efforts helped move discussions toward a peaceful outcome and strengthened Pakistan’s role in international diplomacy.
The agreement has attracted global attention, with many observers hoping it will reduce tensions and support better relations among countries. Officials believe that improved stability could positively influence energy markets, trade, and regional cooperation.
President Zardari stressed that peace should now become the foundation for future policies, allowing nations to focus on economic improvement and public welfare. He added that cooperation and dialogue remain the best tools for solving international challenges.
