No Pakistani University Among Top 400 in Times World Rankings 2027

Pakistan has recorded a mixed performance in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2027, with no Pakistani university making it into the world’s top 400 institutions.

The latest ranking highlights the challenges Pakistani universities continue to face in improving their position in global higher education.

Quaid-i-Azam University emerged as Pakistan’s highest-ranked institution, securing a position in the 551–600 band.

NUST followed in the 601–650 range, while COMSATS University Islamabad was placed in the 651–700 band.

Overall, 56 Pakistani universities were included in the global rankings, reflecting the growing participation of the country’s higher education institutions on the international stage.

However, the absence of any university from the top 400 points to the need for continued progress in research quality, academic output, international collaboration and global competitiveness.
