Iran Offers Free Visa to Pakistanis Attending Ayatollah Khamenei’s Funeral

Iran has reportedly announced a special 10-day visa facilitation arrangement for Pakistani citizens intending to travel to the country to participate in the funeral and mourning ceremonies of the late Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The measure is aimed at easing travel procedures for those wishing to pay their respects during the period of national mourning.

Under the arrangement, the standard visa fee has been waived for eligible Pakistani travelers. However, authorities have clarified that all visitors must still complete the required application process through Iran’s official electronic visa (eVisa) system and obtain approval before beginning their journey. Applicants are required to provide valid identification documents, a recent passport-sized photograph, and a passport that remains valid for at least six months from the date of travel.

Iranian officials have emphasized that the waiver of visa fees does not guarantee automatic entry approval, as each application will continue to undergo the necessary review process. Travelers have also been advised to confirm the latest requirements and travel guidelines with Iranian embassies or consulates before making arrangements.

Authorities further warned applicants to remain cautious of unauthorized travel agents or intermediaries claiming to offer guaranteed visas or expedited approvals. Travelers are encouraged to rely only on official government channels and diplomatic missions for accurate information regarding the application process and entry requirements.
