Pakistan’s US Imports Explode by Nearly 40% in One Year

Pakistan’s imports from the United States recorded a significant 39% increase during FY2025-26, reaching $3.27 billion, reflecting stronger trade activity and expanding economic cooperation between the two countries.

The sharp rise highlights growing demand for American products and the strengthening of bilateral commercial relations.

During the same fiscal year, Pakistan’s exports to the United States climbed to $6.13 billion, reaffirming the US as Pakistan’s largest export destination in North America.

Key export sectors, including textiles, apparel, leather products, and agricultural goods, continued to play a vital role in driving export growth.

The increase in imports has been attributed to evolving US trade policies, reciprocal trade arrangements, and greater business engagement between companies in both countries.

These developments have contributed to higher trade volumes and improved market access, supporting stronger economic ties.

Pakistan also posted steady export growth across the wider North American region, indicating continued demand for Pakistani products despite global economic challenges.

The latest trade figures underscore the importance of the Pakistan-US economic partnership, with both imports and exports showing positive momentum. As commercial relations continue to deepen, the United States remains one of Pakistan’s most valuable trading partners, creating new opportunities for businesses, investment, and long-term economic collaboration.
