Pakistan, Iran Agree to Boost Bilateral Trade to $10 Billion

Pakistan and Iran have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening economic ties by agreeing to increase bilateral trade to $10 billion, marking a significant step toward expanding cooperation between the two neighboring countries.

The agreement was reached during the 10th Pakistan-Iran Joint Trade Committee (JTC) meeting, where officials from both sides held detailed discussions on enhancing trade, investment, and collaboration between the public and private sectors.

During the meeting, both countries emphasized the importance of improving border infrastructure and connectivity to facilitate smoother movement of goods and services.

They also agreed to simplify customs procedures, remove trade barriers, and accelerate negotiations on a Free Trade Agreement (FTA), which is expected to create new opportunities for businesses and investors in both markets.

Officials highlighted that stronger economic cooperation would not only boost cross-border commerce but also encourage greater private-sector participation, increase market access, and promote long-term investment.

The two sides expressed confidence that these initiatives would help unlock the full potential of bilateral trade while supporting sustainable economic growth and regional prosperity.

The renewed commitment reflects the shared vision of Pakistan and Iran to deepen their economic partnership, strengthen regional integration, and build a more resilient and mutually beneficial trade relationship for the future.
