Weather Disruptions Impact 55 Domestic and International Flights Across Pakistan

Bad weather disrupted flight operations at several airports across Pakistan on Monday, August 17, affecting the schedules of 55 domestic and international flights. Thunderstorms, strong winds, and rain caused delays of up to 11 hours at some airports.

Islamabad International Airport was among the worst affected, with 16 flights delayed by up to seven hours because of thunderstorms in Islamabad and nearby areas. Six flights operating between Karachi and Islamabad were also delayed by around 1.5 to seven hours.

At Lahore International Airport, 14 flights faced delays ranging from one to 11 hours. Pakistan International Airlines flight PA-41 from Dubai was delayed by 11 hours. Two Lahore to Jeddah flights were delayed by around 10 hours, while a Lahore to Sharjah flight also faced an 11-hour delay. A Kuala Lumpur to Lahore flight was delayed by about 5.5 hours.

Karachi recorded delays involving nine flights, while six flights from Multan to Sharjah, Dubai, and Madinah were delayed by one to 10 hours. Five Sialkot flights to Sharjah, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi also faced delays of up to 2.5 hours.

Passengers have been advised to confirm their flight status with airlines before travelling, as schedules may change during bad weather.
