Five teachers at Government Primary School No. 5 in Hayatabad, Peshawar, have been suspended after students were reportedly found performing cleaning and other manual tasks on school premises.
The action came after a surprise inspection by the District Education Officer (Male), Peshawar, on September 1.
An inquiry has been launched, with Headmaster Ashfaq Ali Shah appointed to investigate the incident and submit a report within seven days.
The Education Department reiterated that students must not be involved in cleaning or manual labour, stressing the need for a safe, respectful and supportive learning environment for children.
