Punjab Now has Secret Service Cell Targeting Corrupt Govt Officials

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved the establishment of a confidential cell to strengthen the provincial government’s crackdown on corruption and malpractice across Punjab.

According to reports, the newly approved cell will prepare reports on complaints and cases related to corruption, with its findings submitted directly to the chief minister.

Authorities have also emphasized strict confidentiality, ensuring that the identities of citizens who file complaints are protected.

Helpline 1350 has been activated to provide citizens with a direct channel to report bribery, corruption and misuse of official authority.

The initiative is aimed at encouraging people to report wrongdoing without fear of their identities being disclosed.

Maryam Nawaz has directed the relevant authorities to ensure timely action on complaints and ordered independent reviews of development projects across the province.

These reviews will examine both the quality of completed or ongoing work and the use of allocated funds.

The chief minister also warned that legal action would be taken against individuals found involved in the misappropriation or misuse of public funds.

She said efforts would continue until misappropriated public money was fully recovered.

Maryam Nawaz stressed that improving transparency, preventing misuse of government resources and restoring public confidence in state institutions remain key priorities of the provincial government.
