Madinah witnessed a spell of rainy and stormy weather as rain and lightning brought a change to the city’s usually hot conditions. The weather created a striking scene, with flashes of lightning lighting up the sky during the night.
Saudi Arabia’s National Center for Meteorology (NCM) had issued weather alerts for the Madinah region, warning of rain, strong winds, reduced visibility, and thunderstorms. The warnings covered parts of the region, including Madinah city and nearby areas.
The latest NCM forecast for September 12 also warned of moderate to heavy thunderstorms in parts of the Madinah region, with possible hail, strong winds, and dust.
Weather records also show thunderstorms and rain around Madinah during September 11 and 12. Authorities have advised people to remain careful during thunderstorms and avoid areas where flash flooding could occur.
