The world premiere of episode one of a new film titled Spiritual Democracy about Prime Minister Imran Khan was held at the Sindh Governor House here on Tuesday, which also happened to be the PM’s 69th birthday.
The film’s director, Salman Ahmad of the ‘Junoon’ music band, stated that the film was inspired by his experience with Covid and seeing death up close while in New York in early 2020. He had hoped that if he lived, he would do something good.
The movie begins with a trip down memory lane. There are clips of the prime minister hunting, playing cricket, winning the World Cup in 1992, and giving speeches during the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) sit-in in 2014.
During his conversation, the Prime Minister defined the term “Spiritual Democracy.” “It’s spiritual to be humane. And where a democracy serves people’s interests, it’s a spiritual democracy,” he explained.
