As part of the new auto policy, the government has chosen to penalize automakers who fail to deliver automobiles to customers within two months after booking.
The additional secretary of the Ministry of Industries and Production shared the news while briefing the National Assembly Standing Committee on Industries and Production, which was chaired by Sajjad Hussain Turi. According to the report, the decision will take effect in 2021, following the upcoming budget.
During the meeting, the Engineering Development Board (EDB) also said that auto companies who postpone vehicle deliveries for more than two months will be fined 3% plus Kibor.
