In the wake of critical medical supply shortages, Pakistan has begun delivering free medicines to Afghanistan.
Two containers of medications worth Rs 25 million, according to local media reports, have departed Sindh’s capital.
The initial shipment includes antibiotics for viral illnesses, medications for common disorders among the elderly and emergency supplies.
Officials have also delivered wheelchairs and other essential medical equipment, in addition to medicines.
“This is the first consignment of our plan of medical help to Afghanistan,” a senior official of the Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (PPMA) told a leading daily.
