FIA Islamabad Zone has recovered Rs. 1 million and returned the amount to a complainant who was allegedly defrauded in connection with an Umrah visa.
According to an FIA official, the agency’s Anti-Human Trafficking Circle recovered the full amount from Muhammad Afzal Kiyani during proceedings in Inquiry No. 757/2025.
The investigation reportedly began after Muhammad Waseem Abbasi complained that he had paid Rs1 million to Kiyani for arranging an Umrah visa for Saudi Arabia. The visa was allegedly not provided, while the money was also not returned to the complainant.
During the inquiry, FIA officials recovered the entire amount from Kiyani and subsequently handed it back to Abbasi. The complainant expressed his appreciation for the agency’s assistance and the recovery of his money.
The FIA said it would continue taking action against cases involving visa fraud, deception and financial cheating. The agency has urged people seeking visas or overseas travel services to remain cautious when dealing with individuals offering such arrangements.
The recovery highlights the role of the FIA’s Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in addressing complaints related to fraudulent visa arrangements and protecting citizens from financial losses.
Authorities said action would continue against those allegedly involved in misleading people through false visa offers or other fraudulent overseas travel arrangements.
