The International Cricket Council (ICC) awarded Babar Azam the number one T20I batting ranking for his outstanding performance against the West Indies towards the end of his remarkable and electrifying 2021 adventure. Babar’s 79-ball 79 against the West Indies in Karachi propelled him back to the top of the rankings, ahead of Aiden Markram and Dawid Malan.
Going into the final nine days of 2021, he is now ranked number one in both the T20I and ODI rankings. Babar’s legacy is being forged in all three formats, although his brilliance shone brightest in the shortest format of 2021.
