Chief Minister Mahmood Khan carried out the groundbreaking Makh Banda Dam project here on Tuesday that would be completed in three years at an approximate cost of Rs814 million. The dam would help to put 725 acres of land under cultivation upon completion.
The Chief Minister also made a breakthrough in the reconstruction of the 38-kilometer-long road from Banda Daud Shah to Gurguri, which could be completed at an approximate cost of Rs587 million in two years.
Addressing public gatherings at Makh Banda and Banda Daud Shah, the chief minister announced a package of Rs2 billion for the gasification of Karak. He said that the oil and gas royalty funds were the proper of the people of Karak and other oil-producing districts, adding the govt launched Karak Area Development Project to make sure that the royalty funds were spent on the event of Karak.
The chief minister said that quite Rs9 billion would be spent on the varied developmental projects in Karak during subsequent four years. He added that a project had been planned to supply clean beverage from Lawaghar Dam to Karak city. He said that employment on the dualization of Bannu Road had been started which might be completed at an estimated cost of Rs4 billion out of which Rs2 billion had already been released.
Highlighting other developmental projects for Karak, the chief minister said that employment on the upgrading of the prevailing healthcare facilities within the district was underway whereas a serious teaching hospital was also being established within the southern region. He said that Rs450 million had been allocated within the current fiscal year for the execution of varied road projects within the district.
