According to reports, Toyota Pakistan is expected to raise the prices of its Completely Built-Up (CBU) vehicles today, with an increase ranging from Rs. 300,000 to Rs. 1.25 million. However, this will be the automaker’s second price increase within a month.
As per Pakwheels, the huge increase in prices is due to the recent depreciation of the Pakistani rupee, an increase in freight charges, and growing material costs.
Further, Toyota’s CBU rates were raised to Rs. 2.28 million at the start of this month, and they were applicable from March 4. The company also said that due to a recent increase in the Regulatory Duty (RD) on imported CBU units, it will pass the price increase on to its consumers.
It is important to mention that the prices of all CBUs had already risen to above Rs. 1.1 million. The price of the Prius 1.8L has been increased by Rs. 2.28 million, while the premium variant of the Corolla Cross has been increased by Rs. 2.14 million.
