According to local media sources citing his family, the former four-star general passed away from amyloidosis. According to sources, the development of his disease necessitated a few months in the hospital for him.
According to earlier reports, plans were being made to bring the nation’s sick former military leader back home following his self-imposed exile; however, he was unable to make it and passed away in the United Arab Emirates.
Musharraf was elected as Pakistan’s 10th president in 1999 after a military takeover.
From 1998 to 2001, he was the 10th CJCSC, and from 1998 to 2007, he was the 7th top general.
