According to sources, Pakistan and Tajikistan have agreed to increase their efforts to complete the CASA-1000 project as soon as possible.
The development occurred during a meeting in Dushanbe between Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon, as per statement.
During the meetings thorough analysis of bilateral ties, it was decided to upgrade the Pakistan-Tajikistan relationship in all dimensions. It was agreed to collaborate in order to improve trade, investments, energy cooperation, aviation ties, road and rail connectivity, and the CASA-1000 project’s early completion.
FM Qureshi emphasized Pakistan’s constructive contribution to the Afghan peace process in a regional sense. He hoped that the Afghan parties would take this historic opportunity to create long-term peace and stability in Afghanistan and the region. President Rahmon has been invited to visit Pakistan by Prime Minister Imran Khan, according to FM Qureshi. The president graciously expressed his desire to make the trip as soon as possible.
