Shadab Khan, the interim captain of Pakistan, has emphasised the value of experienced players following his young team’s defeat to Afghanistan in the second T20I on Sunday in Sharjah.
Shadab claimed that the media and fans will recognise the value of seasoned players like Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, who were rested for this series, in a press conference following Afghanistan’s seven-wicket defeat.
“Whether Babar and Rizwan perform or not, people still criticise them.
The sword of strike rate is always hanging over them.
As a country, we wanted the PSL players to play international cricket because we assumed they would play with a higher strike rate given how well they were doing there, according to Shadab.
