Zhang, a software engineer who graduated from Tianjin’s Nankai University, Zhang supervises an estimated 24% of a company called ByteDance By making him the 9th richest person in China according to Forbes’ real-time list of billionaires. Zhang is believed to have a net worth of $16.2 billion.
Since starting the company in 2012, the 35-year-old has had incredible success, landing him a position on the Forbes China 30 Under 30 list in 2013. According to Pitchbook, the Beijing-based business has raised a total of $7.5 billion, and investors value it at $75 billion.
