The Pakistan Economic Survey (PES) 2022-23 has revealed that the population of donkeys in the country has continued to grow and has reached 5.8 million this year. The survey data shows a steady increase in the population of these “beasts of burden” over the past few years, with 5.5 million in 2019-2020, 5.6 million in 2020-21, and 5.7 million in 2021-22.
Additionally, the report by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar states that the cattle population in the country has increased to 55.5 million, buffalo to 45 million, sheep to 32.3 million, and goats to 84.7 million.
