According to the official reports, the ISRO has always been keen in the domestic private sector in order to finance the satellite launch and the rocket manufacturing business so it can clearly focus on the research as well as the markets of heavy satellite launch.
NewSpace India Ltd is the state owned Indian organization that is prepared to compete with the global firms like SpaceX for the heavy satellite launch business. However, it is offering a new GSLV- Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle that is Mk-3 to many foreign customers at market competitive rates.
The GSLV MK-3 is also considered as the most powerful launch vehicle of ISRO till now. Moreover, this vehicle can lift about four tonnes of payload to a geostationary transfer orbit along with the 10 tonnes to the lower orbit of earth.
D. Radhakrishnan, the Technical and Strategic Director at NewSpace India Ltd also said that “There are numerous customers who are interested and keen to launch their communication satellites as a dedicated payload instead of a corporate passenger.”
