Babar Azam Remains World’s No.1 Batter as ICC Releases New ODI Rankings

After Imam-ul-Haq’s strong performance in the first ODI against Afghanistan, where he scored 61 runs off 94 balls, he has moved up to the third spot in the ICC ODI rankings.

Babar Azam remains at the top with 880 rating points, followed by Rassie van der Dussen at second place with 777 points. Imam-ul-Haq now has 752 points and is getting closer to the second position, achieving his 17th half-century in international ODI matches.

On the other hand, Fakhar Zaman, who scored only two runs in the same match, slipped to fifth place. Despite maintaining his top rank, Babar Azam’s rating points decreased by six due to getting out without scoring.

India’s Shubman Gill is fourth in the rankings with 743 points, while Fakhar Zaman is now in fifth place.

In the first ODI against Afghanistan, Pakistani bowler Haris Rauf’s remarkable performance of taking five wickets led to Pakistan’s dominant victory by 142 runs. As a result, Rauf has moved up seven places to the 36th position in the ODI bowling rankings.

His outstanding figures of 5-18 in 6.2 overs have earned him his highest rating points so far, reaching a total of 522.
