Heavy Rain Alert! PMD Forecasts Monsoon Showers & Thunderstorms Across Pakistan Until July 28

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast a widespread spell of monsoon rains and thunderstorms across the country from July 24 to 28, with several regions expected to experience moderate to heavy rainfall.

Provinces including Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir are likely to receive rain, while isolated areas could witness heavy downpours accompanied by strong winds and lightning. In Karachi, cloudy conditions with light to moderate rainfall are expected during the forecast period.

Authorities have warned that intense rainfall may lead to urban flooding in low-lying areas, particularly in major cities, along with the risk of flash floods, reduced visibility, and disruptions to daily life.

Emergency services in Sindh have been placed on high alert to respond to any weather-related incidents, while citizens are advised to avoid unnecessary travel, stay away from flood-prone areas, and closely follow official weather updates.

The PMD has also urged farmers, tourists, and residents in vulnerable regions to take precautionary measures to ensure their safety throughout the ongoing monsoon spell.
