The Pakistan cricket team has started their training camp at Pindi Cricket Stadium in preparation for the upcoming three-match Test series against Australia, set to begin on December 14, 2023.
In an update from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), three additional pacers—Sameen Gul, Ali Shafique, and Muhammad Ali—have been included in the training camp. Chief Selector Wahab Riaz had previously revealed the 18-member Test squad for the Australia series, which included seven more players joining the camp: Arshad Iqbal, Kashif Ali, Mohammad Nawaz, Shadab Khan, Shahnawaz Dahani, Usama Mir, and Usman Qadir.
Unfortunately, fast bowler Shahnawaz Dahani has been declared unfit to bowl, leading the PCB to send him to the National Cricket Academy for rehabilitation in hopes of a speedy recovery.
In another development, former skipper Babar Azam, Sarfaraz Ahmad, and Usman Qadir have been given permission to attend Imam-ul-Haq’s wedding after today’s practice session. However, these three cricketers will actively participate in the training session scheduled for tomorrow.
The confirmed Pakistan squad for the Australia Tests includes players like Shan Masood, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, among others. The Australia tour schedule involves a four-day match against PM’s XI from December 6-9 at Manuka Oval in Canberra, followed by the three Test matches on December 14-18 in Perth, December 26-30 in Melbourne, and January 3-7 in Sydney.
