Adidas Placed a Floating Tennis Court Above the Great Barrier Reef

Adidas opened their new collection of apparels on a large tennis court floating on the Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, representing their collaboration with Parley for the Oceans, “Plastic Waste is a Problem, Innovation is Our Solution”.

The sports goods company has leveled up their game of advertisement, incorporating recycled plastic in their apparels worn by the famous Australian players including Ian Thorpe, Nathan Cleary, Canoeist Jess Fox, and Steph Claire Smith, playing tennis on the World’s largest coral reef.

Stated by an Adidas Spokesperson, the new collection will be showcased during the Australian Open to be held in Melbourne. Moreover, the collection is inspired by the beauty of Great Barrier Reef itself and is manufactured with Parley Ocean Plastic to contribute towards environmental sustainability.

The spokesperson further mentioned that the collection will be launched in Queensland Marine Park to draw attention towards the ending plastic waste initiatives and protecting the Great Barrier Reef. Moreover, the plastic used to make the court will be later recycled to open a sports court at a Townville school.

This is a great initiative taken by Adidas and can highly contribute towards environmental protection.
