Al-Qadir Trust Case: Islamabad High Court Grants Bail to Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday granted bail to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan in al-Qadir Trust case for 2 Weeks.

A two-member bench comprising Justice Miangul Hassan and Justice Saman Rifat Imtiaz heard the case.

Imran Khan’s lawyer Khawaja Haris said that we were filing a bail application when the arrest took place.

Khawaja Haris said in his arguments that under the NAB Amendment Act, it is mandatory to share the inquiry report, if the inquiry report was given, we would have challenged it. Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb inquired that the inquiry report was not given to you. Khawaja Haris replied that no inquiry report was given till before the arrest.

“When did this inquiry turn into an investigation?” the court asked. Khawaja Haris replied that according to NAB, the inquiry was turned into an investigation on April 28.

Earlier, during the hearing, the bench expressed displeasure over the sloganeering of lawyers in the courtroom. Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb remarked that if such an attitude is adopted, then there will be no hearing. Security personnel escorted the shouting lawyer out of the courtroom.
